Before you share your store, check that buyers can find your product, pay for it and receive it. This checklist follows the Getting started steps shown on your dashboard, in the order that avoids surprises on launch day. Tick each item, then announce your store.
1. Connect a payment method
Without an active payment method, buyers cannot pay for your products.
- Open Settings → Payments & pricing and select Connect Stripe. See how to connect Stripe.
- Wait until the Stripe card shows ✓ Stripe connected.
- Check the Currency of your store in the same tab. Change it before your first sale.
2. Create and publish your first product
- Create a product from New product. See how to create your first product.
- Write a description that says who the product is for and exactly what is included.
- Add a cover image, and alt text for your images.
- Add the content buyers receive in the Content tab: files, pages or videos.
- Set a refund policy in Advanced settings.
- Choose Public in the Publication tab, then select Publish.
3. Design your storefront
- Open the Website Builder and apply a theme. See how to build your store.
- Build your homepage: a clear promise, your products, proof from buyers and an email signup.
- Add your pages to the menu under Navigation links in the Header block.
- Check every page in Phone preview.
- Select Publish: saved drafts are not visible to visitors.
4. Set up your store identity
- Check your store name, logo and description in Settings.
- Add your social media links.
- Optionally, connect your own domain, such as
shop.yourdomain.com. - Customize your 404 page so lost visitors find their way back to your products.
5. Handle taxes and legal information
- If you sell to EU consumers and are registered for VAT, enable EU VAT collection and choose the VAT category of each product.
- Make sure your store shows the legal information required in your country, such as your business name and contact details.
- Know how to refund an order before your first request arrives.
6. Test a purchase from start to finish
This is the step most often skipped, and the one that avoids the most problems.
- Open your store in a private browsing window, as a visitor would.
- Go from the homepage to the product, then to checkout.
- Buy the product with your own email address. To test for free, set the price to
0temporarily, then restore it. - Check the confirmation email and the content in the customer library: every file opens and every link works.
- Check that the order appears in Sales.
7. Secure your account
- Enable two-factor authentication. See how to secure your account.
- If other people work with you, create a team instead of sharing your password.
8. Get your first visitors and your first order
- Share your store link with your audience: email, social networks, communities where your buyers spend time.
- Welcome your first follower: add an Email signup block to collect the addresses of visitors who are not ready to buy yet.
- Offer a free product or a launch price to get your first orders and your first reviews.

9. Launch your first marketing action
Once the store works, one simple action is enough to create momentum:
- a coupon for your first buyers or your email list;
- a time-limited sale;
- an upsell or cross-sell to increase the average order;
- an email campaign to announce the launch;
- abandoned cart recovery, to bring back buyers who left the checkout.
After the launch
Follow your visits and sales in Analytics during the first weeks. Look at which pages visitors leave, update your product description with the questions buyers ask you, and publish content regularly, for example on your store's blog, to bring visitors from search engines.
